Aerobic Exercise
Requires You To Increase Your Heart Rate
It might be one of the hardest things to get into, but
once you get into the groove of it, aerobic exercise can make a huge
difference in your life. There are many types of exercise that you
can do, but this type tends to be the most beneficial. If for any
reason you cannot attempt this yet, don’t worry, you can work your
way up to it. Even if you have a disability there may be a way you
can get some sort of aerobic exercise into your day. You just have
to talk to your doctor about your alternatives and see if there is
anything he or she might recommend.
For those who want to take up aerobic exercise, but have not been
active for a while, you should make sure you take your time and work
up to it. If you try to do an hour of aerobic exercise right of the
bat, you could really hurt yourself. You want to start out with very
short workouts and then add times to your routine as you go along.
Start out with just five or ten minutes of exercise and then stop
once you start to feel like you can’t go on. You will want to push
yourself beyond that point in the future, but when you start, you
want to get your body use to the idea of exercising again before you
do so.
Remember that in order to consider it aerobic exercise you have to
get your heart rate up and keep it up for a period of time. When you
first start out it will be a short time, but you want to add time to
your workout every few weeks to move up to a half hour or even an
hour if you can do it. You can do this in many ways. Though you may
not think of walking as an aerobic exercise, it can be if you are
doing it correctly. You will have to walk very fast, but as long as
you are getting your heart rate up you will be enjoying the benefits
of aerobic activity. Swimming is another good one as well.
For my aerobic exercise I like to dance. I have tried structured
workout videos and they are just not for me. I get bored too easily.
When I get bored, I lose interest rather quickly, and that’s the end
of that. For me, dancing in the living room to a Wiggles’ video is
just what works well for me. My daughter can dance with me, and
there are many different videos from which to choose. Each will give
you a decent workout, and all the aerobic exercise you can handle.
Look for something like that if you bore easily. That way you know
you’ll stick with it, at least a little longer than usual.
